This is subject to laggingįar less than PowerPoint, but I still get several crashes per class. But since the resolution of each projector is different, I have to resize each slide every time I advance a page in OneNote. This interrupts the flow of the class.Īlthough it's not meant for presentation, I've been using OneNote instead for the last few lectures. I've found that even with a maxed out Surface Pro 4, no other apps running, that I get bad laggingĪnd frequent crashes. I was willing to work within those limitations, but my 3-hour lectures (once a week) often involve 100+ slides (we work lots of problems) and lots of inking. I looked into PowerShow, but it doesn't have the ability to show the prior slide simultaneously (only the next one). But I have to manage this all manually while carefully coordinating the advancement of slides on both screens. Then on the other projector display I open a new window from PowerPoint (non-slideshow) and try to maximize it as much as possible to show I started using PowerPoint to display a slideshow of the current slide (which I annotate on my surface pro screen).
Inįact, I sometimes wish I had 3 projectors! At least I can always pull up a prior inked-in-class slide while you can't get back what you erased from a whiteboard to make room!

Solving a single problem can require several whiteboards of use, thus the need to display multiple slides full of equations at one time (thankfully our school's dual projector system makes this possible). This is a very math and diagram heavy course. That we moved on to a new slide before they were done taking notes. When I didn't do this students complained I've been excited to switch completely from using the whiteboard in class to inking all the lectures so the students have a permanent copy of the lecture writings.īecause students may want to take their own notes (even though they will get a copy later), I use one of the projectors for the slide I'm currently annotating and the other projector to show the previous slide. I am able to connect my Surface dock to the projection system and use the two projectors as additional displays (one via HDMI and one via I have a Surface Pro 4 (maxed out on specs) and I teach Electric Circuits in classrooms that have dual projectors.
